- This is for a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemental with additional information included in this notice. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) #ACD-3-Q-0029. This solicitation is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The North American Industry Classification System (NAIC) Code for this acquisition is 334220. The standard size for NAICS code is 750 employees. The solicitation will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities web site http://fedbizops.gov/. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition including solicitation amendments will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis with Motorola, Inc., 7230 Parkway Drive, Hanover, MD 21076 for the purchase of radio system enhancements, Item #1 - P/N CDN6281AR, Base with PTT switch, Qty (20), Item #2 - P/N CDN6291A, Supra Binaural Noise Canceling, Qty (20), Item #3 - L3142, HP Minitower, Qty (10), Item #4 - P/N ZA00246AB, Elite Client Optional Windows 2000, Qty (10), Item #5 - P/N DSCDN6171B, Marconi Trackball, Qty (11), Item #6 - P/N L3243, Centracom Gold Elite Server, Qty (1), Item #7 - P/N CDN1549C, 17-inch Viewsonic, CRT, Short Depth, Qty (1), Item #8 - P/N DSJ4813A, Superstack II 12 Port Hub 40, Qty (1), Item #9 - P/N CDN6223, 1000 feet Ethernet bulk cable base-t, Qty (1), Item #10 - P/N CDN6224, RJ45 Connectors, pack of 10, Qty (3), Item #11 - P/N B1878A, Upgrade installation manual package, Qty (1), Item #12 - Installation and Optimization services for centracom gold elite console, Qty (1). The proposed contract action is for equipment and service for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 6.302 and will result in a Firm Fixed Price contract. This is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all compliant quotes received within (12) twelve days after date of publication will be considered by the government. These items are proprietary to Motorola, Inc. and are required for continuity with existing systems. Delivery of the items shall be 30 days after receipt of order. The delivery shall be FOB Destination to CBP, Electronic Shop, 207 West Del Mar Boulevard, Laredo, TX 78045. All quotes shall be submitted to the attention of Mr. Lloyd Burton, Contracting Officer, Administrative Center Dallas, RFQ ACD-3-Q-0029, 7701 N. Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75247 by 2:00 PM, CST, 9/02/2003. The facsimile number is (214) 905-5568. The RFQ incorporates provisions and clauses that are in effect thorough Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-15.
