Description

Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC) intends to award a sole source contract to the Space Dynamics Laboratory, a unit of the Utah State University Research Foundation, and a Federally Funded Research Center, to fabricate and test equipment to calibrate infrared (IR) space sensors. This effort supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Russian American Observation Satellites (RAMOS) Program. The design of this calibration equipment was accomplished under contract HQ0006-00-D-0006. The scope of this effort is limited to fabrication, procurement, and testing of specialized test equipment for calibraton of the IR sensors. This contract results from the joint United States/Russian Federation scientific and research effort conducted for the past three years under the Technical Assistance Agreement the contractor has in place with the Russian Federation. Acquisition systems level specifications for the sensors are maintained by the Government. The contemplated contract will have a period of performance of 30 months. The approximate value of the contract is $7 million. Award of the contract will be made pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). See Numbered Note(2): 22 and 26.
