Description
It is the intent of National Library of Medicine (NLM) to negotiate on a sole source basis from Jill L. Newmark, Washington, DC, to acquire professional support services for registrarial services related to the exhibition "Changing the Faces of Medicine" and earlier projects produced by the Exhibition Program. The purchase order term will be September 19, 2003 through September 18, 2004 with option for one (1) successive one-year period. Jill Newmark has been a registrar for more than 20 years with over 10 years of experience in the Washington metropolitan area. She is a highly skilled registrar with a demonstrated understanding and knowledge of professional registrarial standards and practices. Ms Newmark is highly regarded and respected in her field. She is familiar with and has worked closely with shippers, craters, art handlers, designers, fabricators, and mount makers. She has extensive experience with loans and loan processing from private and institutional lenders including the Smithsonian Institution, the Library of Congress and the National Archives. She is familiar with accommodating special loan requirements including environmental, security and specialized handling. Her experience is multi-faceted both in object handling, and exhibition management and installation. She has worked with a variety of collections from fine art and historical to scientific and archival. Her exhibition experience ranges from fine and contemporary art to scientific, interactive and traveling exhibitions. Ms Newmark has demonstrated skill and expertise in art and object handling, conservation practices and artifact bracketing techniques; possesses highly developed negotiating skills with vendors and lenders; and is familiar with computers and various software programs. Ms Newmark's demonstrated level of skill and expertise in the registrarial field along with her ability to work within a compressed schedule and her ability to provide the level of expertise necessary for the job makes her uniquely qualified for this procurement action. The proposed acquisition will be procured under FAR Part 13 - Simplified Acquisitions. This is not a Request for Quotations (RFQ), nor is an RFQ available, however, all responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the NLM. Firms interested in responding to this notice must be able to provide service as specified above. Responses must be in writing and must be received in this office within fifteen (15) calendar days from publication date of this notice, and must include pricing information and meet the criteria requirement.
