Description
The University of California, which operates the Los Alamos National Laboratory under contract to the Department of Energy, solicits companies interested in licensing opportunities with Los Alamos National Laboratory for technology described as In-Situ Leak Testing of Glovebox, Isolator or Containment Unit Gloves. * Note: This is not a procurement or grant opportunity. Los Alamos National Laboratory has developed an apparatus and methodology for in-situ testing and replacement of gloves utilized in containment enclosures. The apparatus is capable of detecting glove defects which were previously undetected through visual inspection. Advantages ? Provides an added level of personnel safety and process quality control. ? Reduced opportunity for damaging gloves upon initial installation and during change-out. ? Provides for safe, simple and timely inspection which can be completed upon change-out or integrated with regular glovebox preventative maintenance schedules. Applicable Industries ? Pharmaceutical ? Biomedical ? Nuclear ? Electronics ? Hazardous material handling ? Other high purity or sterile environment processes Any organization interested in entering further discussions with Los Alamos National Laboratory to license the technology must respond with a Letter of Interest. The Letter of Interest shall include a description of the company?s (1) business and business goals (2) motivation for pursuing this opportunity and (3) specific field of use for applying the technology. Failure to provide this information may be grounds to consider your Letter of Interest as not being a qualified or an acceptable response to this request. The Laboratory may exclude your company from consideration under this condition. The Letter of Interest must provide the information requested above in order for the respondent to be considered a qualified respondent. Following the execution of a Nondisclosure Agreement, qualified respondents will be provided with technical data that will enable them to evaluate the technology. Qualified respondents that wish to enter into negotiations for licensing will be required to submit a comprehensive business plan or product plan prior to selection and license negotiations. Please send Letters of Interest to the attention of Charles Gibson, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Industrial Business Development Program Office, Mail Stop C334, Los Alamos, New Mexico 87545; or email them to [charliegib@lanl.gov].
