- Description: The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, Grand Prairie, Texas intends to award a contract(s) for the following services: Pharmacy Technician (2 positions), Clinical Lab Assistant (2 positions), and Radiology Technician (1 position). The services will be provided at the Federal Correctional Complex located at East Whatley Road, Oakdale, LA 71463. Requirements for the contracts include, but are not limited to the following: Pharmacy Technician(s) - Assist the pharmacist and medical staff with filing and preparing daily prescriptions for the inmate population. Will on a routine basis run the daily pill lines and dispense medications as ordered and directed, filing of pharmacy reports and medical records as needed, typing labels as needed, perform formulary maintenance and pharmacy projects as assigned, the contractor shall adhere to all standards and regulations associated with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the American Correctional Association Foundation/Core Standards for Adult Correctional Institutions, perform other tasks within his/her scope of practice. Estimated number of sessions per year is 250. Each session is defined as 6 hours in duration. Clinical Lab Assistant(s) - Be well versed in the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations policies and procedures, responsible for drawing all lab work that is requested by the clinicians at FCC Oakdale. The drawing will include, but not limited to the following: All specimens will be drawn and prepared for shipment to the appropriate lab. This will include spinning the specimen down, separating the serum and place in proper tubes, apply the proper labels, and ensure the proper documentation is attached to the specimen, maintain a log of all specimens drawn and will ensure the results of the tests are available for review by the medical staff, perform other tasks within his/her scope of practice. Estimated number of sessions per year is 250. Each session is defined as 6 hours in duration. Radiology Technician - Be well versed in the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations policies and procedures, perform x-rays on patients referred by the medical staff, responsible for taking x-rays, such as Chest, skull, limbs, abdomen, back and possible IVP?s upper/lower GI?s, maintain x-ray film files including all written and or dictated reports as needed on all patients referred for evaluation, responsible for purging out of date x-rays and preparing them for silver recovery and forwarding x-rays of departed inmates/detainees and maintaining the Radiology Quality Assurance Program making sure that it is up-to-date per policy, perform other tasks within his/her scope of practice. Estimated number of sessions per year is 250. Each session is defined as 6 hours in duration. The resulting contract(s) will consist of a Base Year period not to exceed 12 consecutive months from the date of award with four 12-month option periods for renewal, if exercised. It is anticipated that the resulting contracts will be indefinite delivery requirements type contracts with firm-fixed unit prices and most likely have multiple awards. This solicitation is set-a-side for small business and all responsible offers will be considered. The North American Industry Classification System code for this service is 621399 and the applicable small business size standard is $6M. The solicitation will be made available on or about September 26, 2003. Upon issuance, solicitation packages may be accessed electronically at this website.
