NAICS Code: 561730 THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE FOR GROUNDS MAINTENANCE AT MAXWELL AFB AND MAXWELL GUNTER-ANNEX AFB, AL. NO FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE FOR PROCUREMENT AND NO IMMEDIATE EFFORT IS PLANNED. INDUSTRY INFORMATION, TO INCLUDE CATALOGUE OR LIST PRICING, IFAVAILABLE, IS REQUESTED ON A VOLUNTEER BASIS. THIS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE IS FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN FAR SUBPART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. There is no Request for Proposal. The government is attempting to conduct market research in this area. Your information regarding the following requirement, coupled with any available pricing, is requested. The contractor will be required to maintain base grounds and plant life in a healthy condition. The grounds shall be weed, pest, and disease free and mowed within height standards (see attached Statement of Work). Normal and dormant seasons shall vary annually and with the type of plant; government shall make final determination of normal and dormant seasons if required. No digging shall be performed without an approved digging permit. At the end of each workday, cleaning debris shall be disposed of. Clippings and other natural debris from the contractor?s operations, unless diseased, shall be transported to the composting facility at contractor expense for composting. The contractor shall not dispose of clippings or other natural debris from his operations through any other method other than the compost site without the prior approval of the contracting officer or QAE. Price information, if available, should be based on a ?per acre? cost. Maxwell AFB and Maxwell Gunter-Annex AFB covers approximately 1144 acres subdivided into 3 categories Offerors should review the Statement of Work posted with this Request for Information. Replies will be accepted from the day of this notice until 30 September 2003. ATTACHMENT - STATEMENT OF WORK = Tasks - Standards; Mow Improved Grounds (Note 1 & 3)- 2 to 4 inches; Mow Semi-Improved Grounds - 7 to 14 inches; Mow Airfield (Note 2)- 7 to 14 inches; Perform Edging - Every mowing; Trimming - Concurrent with mowing to surrounding areas; Aerate Improved Grounds - 1 per year; Irrigate Improved Areas - As required by base water plan; Irrigate Trees and Shrubs - As required by base water plan; Policing - Daily; Fertilize Improved Grounds - Twice per year; Tree Pruning - Tree pruning to be on four year cycle in improved areas only; Maintain Trees - 1 per acre in improved grounds only; Maintain Shrubs - Once per week; Maintain Fire Breaks - 7 to 14 inches; Athletic Areas - 2 ? to 3 ? inches; Maintain Landscaping - Entire base; NOTES:1.Mow to building2.BASH sets standards3.Mowing and policing requirements should be scheduled with visits by distinguished visitors.4.Irrigation system shall not be used if damaged. Sprinkler heads shall be replaced within two days.
