- Description
- NASA Glenn Research Center plans to issue a Request For Offers (RFO) using Best Value Selection for The Topping Heater. This project shall include supervision, labor, material and installation. The Base Contract Work consist of the following: direct-fired high pressure hydrogen burner assembly, a burner ignition detection system, a flameout detection system, a hydrogen control system, a makeup oxygen injection manifold, a makeup oxygen control system, and electronic interface to the facility control system. The topping heater shall be supplied to meet the following criteria: Circumferential Distortion Elements: The maximum intensity level shall be .018 during steady-state operation. The maximum intensity level shall be .036 during transient changes in mass flow and/or set-point of temperature. Steady State High Flow: Maximum flow at mach 5.0 shall be 300 Wa. Temperature at inlet to topping heater (heat supplied by non-vitiated J-57 heaters) 835 degrees Fahrenheit. Transient High Flow: Maximum flow at mach 5.0 shall be 300 Wa. Temperature at inlet to topping heater (heat supplied by non-vitiated J-57 heaters) 350 degrees Fahrenheit. The magnitude of the Construction project is estimated between $500,000. and $1,000,000. A FIXED PRICE CONTRACT is contemplated. This work is considered ?HEAVY AND CIVIL ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION?. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238290 and $12.0 million in three-year average anneal receipts. THIS IS AN UNRESTRICTED PROCUREMENT. The Period Of Performance shall be stated in the RFO. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 2000 format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
