Description: NA IT Services (C++ coding) and Operations Research Services are required for the modification of the RiverWare Reservoir System Modeling Software to provide the required simulation capabilities for the Kansas River reservoir system. NWK acquired the RiverWa re software through contract DACW41-99-P-0244. RiverWare is proprietary software of CADSWES, which is a non-profit corporation. Five tasks, which address the required modeling capabilities are identified in the scope of work, dated 25 January 2002. The five tasks are: 1. Analysis and Implementation of Kansas River Gate Surcharge Regulation 2. Analysis and Implementation of a Reservoir Lake Phase and Lake Character State Variable 3. Analysis and Implementation of Forecasted Incremental Flows and Inflows 4. Analysis and Implementation of Forecasted Cumulative Uncontrolled Flows 5. Analysis and Implementation of Time Dependent Reservoir System Balancing The Contractor shall modify the source code of the RiverWare reservoir system simulation software to add the necessary functionality to complete an existing Kansas River reservoir system operational model. The necessary functions/algorithms to be implemen ted are a procedure for gated spillway surcharge operations, a procedure for forecasted local incremental flows, a procedure for forecasted cumulative local flows, and a procedure for time dependent system balancing of reservoir levels and releases based o n existing risk criteria. RiverWare is proprietary copyrighted software of The Center for Advanced Decision Support for Water and Environmental Systems (CADSEWS), University of Colorado at Boulder, CO. The Government intends to award a sole source extension to contract DACW41-02-C-0015. The University of Colorado-Boulder is currently performing this work.
