- NA This project includes construction of 5.25 miles of levee and rehabilitation of S-256 (remove existing barrels and replace with two 60-in diameter culvert pipes), construction of S-263 (install two 72-in aluminum pipes w/flap gate in C-2 replacement canal) , S-264 (install two 72-in aluminum pipes w/slide gate in C-86), contractor installation of temporary crossing at C-1, and excavation of two replacement canals. Dewatering will also be involved in the levee construction. Estimated construction time is 36 0 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. Solicitation will be issued on or about 16 September 2003 and open on or about 30 October 2003. Solicitation will be issued in electronic format only. Bidders will be provided a CD-ROM at no cost. Interested bidders must register electronically. The geographical restriction of the competition will be limited to 8(a) certified firms located within the geographical area serviced by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) within SBA's Region IV and other firms having a bona fide branch office located within the geographical boundaries of the relevant competitive area. The following states comprise Region IV: Florida, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Kentucky. All other firms are deemed inel igible to submit a bid.
