Description
NA This Request for Information (RFI) is being issued by the Vicksburg Consolidated Contracting Office, at the US Army Topographic Engineering Center, to encourage vendors to provide information on ruggedized, downsized Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) compute r equipment. The computer equipment will potentially be integrated into US Army systems in an effort to reduce the size and weight of the systems, while maintaining full functionality. The Government does not presently intend to award a contract, but wan ts to obtain price, delivery, or other information for planning purposes. Specifications of the desired computer hardware are as follows: 1. Computer workstation: a. State of the art processor (dual processors would be desirable), b. 1-3 U desired height (one U = 1.75 inches), c. Desired weight not to exceed 25 pounds, d. At least 1 GB RAM, e. 128 MB Video Card, f. CD/DVD Reader Writer, g. Ruggedized as much as possible to MIL-STD-810 Standards, h. Meets MIL-STD-461 EMI Requirements. 2. RAID Configuration: a. Minimum 1 TB of storage capacity, b. 1-3 U desired height, c. Desired weight not to exceed 25 pounds, d. Ruggedized as much as possible to MIL-STD-810 standards, e. Meets MIL-STD-461 EMI requirements. 3. LCD Screen/Display: a. 1 U desired thickness, b. Integrated Keyboard, c. Desired wei ght not to exceed 20 pounds, d. 18 inches screen dimension, e. Ruggedized as much as possible to MIL-STD-810 standards, f. Meets MIL-STD-461 EMI requirements. Additionally this equipment shall be capable of being installed in a carrying case(s). Informat ion provided by vendors shall contain specifications (weight, dimensions, ruggedized capabilities provided) of the required carrying case(s). Vendors can provide information on all of the components or individual components as detailed above. While we ar e seeking existing COTS equipment, vendors are encouraged to submit information on future prototype systems/components currently under development OR potential design configurations which can meet our requirements. This office will give consideration to al l information received. Responses to this RFI should not be offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract.
