Description
Medical Supplies - Potential Sources Sought Military Hospitals - (Army, Navy, Air Force) TRICARE Regions 9 and 10 Safety IV Catheters - Standardization Point of Contact: Cindy Ingrao, Clinical Consultant, Tri-Service Regional Business Office, TRICARE Regions 9 & 10, San Diego, CA. Telephone: (619) 532-8517. Potential sources sought to participate in the regional standardization of Safety IV Catheters. TRICARE Regions 9 and 10, a military integrated delivery network (IDN), comprised of Army, Navy and Air Force medical treatment centers in California are in the process of standardizing Safety IV Catheters. If your company currently holds or is in the process of obtaining a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) with the Defense Supply Center-Philadelphia (DSCP) for Safety IV Catheters, your company is eligible to participate in the standardization process. Please respond by Email: cingrao@reg9.med.navy.mil and provide your company name, address, point of contact, telephone, fax and E-mail address and answers to the below listed questions no later than September 22, 2003. For questions, please call (619) 532-8517. 1.Does your company manufacture a safety intravenous catheter? 2.Are your products available through the Prime Vendor, Owens & Minor? 3.What is your DAPA Number? 4.Under what brand(s) does your company manufacture or distribute your product? 5.Is the safety feature an integral part of the intravenous catheter? 6.Does the safety feature of the catheter activate automatically or does it have to be activated by the user? 7.Does the safety feature require the user?s hands to remain behind the needle at all times? 8.After activation of the safety feature, does it remain activated during disconnection of the needle from the catheter and after disposal? 9.Is your product latex free? 10.Is your product radio-opaque? 11.Is your product compatible with all needleless ports? If not, what types of ports are not compatible? 12.What gauges and lengths do your safety intravenous catheters come in? 13.Do you have gauges and lengths suitable for preemies, neonates, and the elderly? 14.Does your product come with wings? 15.Have your products been used in any pediatric hospitals in Southern California? If so which ones? 16.What types of educational tools or materials do you have for this product line? 17.What kind of staff training does your company provide? 18.Does your company provide customer service 24/7? 19.Is there any history of backorders and/or recalls for this product group?
