Description
NA The Contractor shall provide all plant, labor, equipment, and materials and perform all work in strict accordance with contract specifications, industry standards and this statement of work to provide window blast protection at Leisy Hall at Fort Lawton, S eattle, Washington and Bothell USARC at Bothell, Washington. The elements of work to be accomplished at this location are as follows: 1 Installation of Window Blast Protection. The Contractor shall install draperies meeting window blast protection to: Mitigate flying glass shards and debris caused by a bomb blast by providing optimum venting of the blast load while safely capturing the r esulting projectiles. 1.1.1 Product that allows light transmission 1.1.2 Flame retardant product that meets all NFPA fire codes for window coverings 1.1.3 Internal calculations (using DOE Safevue software) providing the psi loads at the glass face at a range from 3 to 19 psi. 1.2 Material shall be Safety Drape or equivalent system. Installation shall include: 1.2.1 Measuring of windows to have system installed. 1.2.2 Installation of drape, anchorage hardware and a trough which is placed at the sill of the window that holds the additional length of drape necessary for the operation of the system. The drape is anchored at the head of the window (either inside or ou tside mount) while remaining unanchored at the sill. 1.2.3 Function of material: The purpose of this system is during the blast-loading event the drape deploys when impacted by the blast pressure and unfurls from the trough to create an envelope that captures the flying debris. Once the blast pressure dissi pates, the drape deposits the glass shards and debris on the floor at the base of the window. 1.3 Approximate size of windows to be supplied are listed below. The Contractor is responsible for confirming size and ensuring fit of drapery prior to ordering and supplying of materials. The Contractor shall supply and fabricate system based on measure ments and calculations provided by Contractor’s personnel. Leisy Hall: Upon request sizes will be furnished under separate cover. Bothell USARC: Upon Request sizes will be furnished under separate cover. 1.4 Any destructive impacts to the walls shall be repaired as close to existing conditions upon completion of project. Method of repair shall be approved by Facility Manager. 2 WARRANTY: 2.1 Installation shall be in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and shall be installed to honor manufacturers warranty. The Contractor shall supply the manufacturers minimum warranty. 2.2 Warranty shall be for a minimum of 10 years or the time period that is industry standard for this material. 2.3 The Contractor shall supply warranty deed upon completion of work. 2.4 The Contractor shall supply operations and maintenance materials upon completion of work. 3 SITE CLEAN UP 3.1 All debris made during or as a result of installation shall be removed from site. 4 DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS 4.1 Drawings: None. Drawings of facility layout will be provided upon request.
