Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM), PMA205 has a requirement to expand the current training to include Air Capable ships. The Naval Air Systems Command provides the fleet with total lifecycle management of all Naval Aviation training systems. The Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) training program ensures that each ship and shore based activity that supports aircraft operations has highly trained and qualified personnel. The ARFF training program requirements are mandated by Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization Manual and DoD INST 6055.6. This tasking will assist in providing personnel qualified in state of the art firefighting tactics, technology, fire combatant systems and equipment. NAVAIR PMA205 procured a CD-ROM based segmented training course for CVs, CVNs and with the most recent upgrade, amphibious ships. The training encompasses Aircraft Firefighting and rescue procedures, general flight deck operation procedures and flight operations orientation, tailored to individual ship class. The training course contains actual film, augmented by dialog, of firefighting techniques, rescue procedures, technical references, aircraft recognition billet descriptions and responsibilities. This training aid now is in use in the fleet. A requirement exists to expand the current training to include Air Capable ships. It is anticipated that a Firm Fixed Price contract under a GSA order against SIN 27-300 will be awarded. The expected period of performance for this contract will be from date of award through 1 FEB 2004. The RFQ, including SOW, quotation instructions, and selection criteria will be posted to http://www.navair.navy.mil/doing_business/open_solicitations/ by 08 SEP 2003. The Government will consider all proposals received on or before 17 SEP 2003. Any questions to this synopsis should be sent via e-mail to DiMonacoZM@navair.navy.mil before proposal submission date on 17 SEP 2003.
