Description

NA The US Army Tank Automotive and Armaments Command is looking for tire manufacturers who have a commercial, off the shelf, non-developmental tire that meets the following description: 37X12.50R16.50, Load Range D or E, Radial or Bias, Tubeless, Off the Road, Light Truck, Traction Tread. The Government intends to test these tires for potential use on the HMMWV. Tires are to be mounted on a 8.25X16.50 Multi-piece rim with a runflat inse rt PN's AS0003 or VF0010. Tires are to be tested to the specifications in SAEJ2014. Testing will be done IAW Mission Profile of the HMMWV, 30% Secondary, 30% Primary and 40% Off Road to include 10,000 Miles Durability Test and Compatibility test to Base Line Tires. The Government will not charge the manufacturers for this testing, but we are requesting that each manufacturer provide 20 tires to the test location free of charge. The test site will need to receive these tires within 10 days after notifica tion that the tire(s) will be tested. Due to funding limitation for these tests and time constraints, based on responses to this synopsis, the Government may determine that it is not economically feasible to test all candidate tires.
