Description
This is a synopsis for commercial items, prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will be issued. The Division of Public Safety, Office of Research Services, National Institutes of Health (NIH) seeks a Contractor to produce a vehicle identification system that meets the goals of safety, security and equitable distribution of parking resources at the NIH. The Division of Public Safety at NIH has carefully developed specifications which precisely define the exact product(s) necessary to effectively manage the NIH parking program. The purpose of the purchase descriptions is to ensure that the program continues to receive parking permits and registration up-date stickers with the level of durability, clarity, consistency, and function that is necessary to conduct the program and to provide quality customer service to NIH customers. It is expected that the proposed contract will purchase 38,550 die-cut parking hangers and 43,300 die-cut parking stickers each year. During the performance of the proposed contract, it will be necessary for the Contractor to make multiple visits to the NIH to discuss the design elements and color selections of the parking permits. The Contractor will be required to hand-deliver each order to the NIH Parking Office. The proposed contract will be awarded for one (1) base year with options for four (4) successive one-year periods. The award of a fixed-price, indefinite delivery (requirements type) contract is anticipated. This requirement is a small business set-aside. The applicable North Anerican Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 339950, size standard 500 employees. The proposals may be due two (2) weeks from the publication date of this synopsis. Marsden, Contracting Officer. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which if timely received shall be considered by the Government.
