- Description
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for replacement of the current Meridian Mail utilized for voice mail at the Aeronautical Center. Call Pilot Version 2.5 manufactured by Nortel Networks has been identified as the replacement for the Meridian SL-100 switch. Southwestern Bell Telecom (SBC) is partnering with Nortel Networks as their "Authorized Distributor" to deliver and install the new voice mail system. SBC is the current support of the Nortel Meridian SL-100 telephone switch located at the Aeronautical Center. This current voice mail system is limited in functionality and is scheduled to become a non-supported hardware and software platform thus necessitating replacement. Call Pilot Version 2.5 is a hardware and software voice mail system that is designed to interface with the FAA's SL-100 telephone switch and will replace the current voice mail system. The FAA intends to solicit and negotiate only with SBC, Oklahoma City, OK, in accordance with AMS Policy 3.2.2.4. This announcement is for information purposes only, not a request for proposals.
