- Description
- The USNS Zeus (T-ARC-7) has an obsolete auxiliary boilers' combustion control system causing maintenance and operational difficulties. Military Sealift Command (MSC) has decided to replace the existing ACC boiler control system with a modern PLC type (boiler control) combustion control system. MSC is requesting quotes from qualified small businesses that can design, procure and install an approved ABS/USCG commercial off the shelf packaged (COTS) PLC automatic combustion/boiler control system, using state of the art technology, interfaced to control the auxiliary boilers on the ZEUS. The COTS boiler control system shall be in accordance with all ABS, USCG and MSC guidelines. The new system shall be reliable, durable, and applicable for future improvements and have service accessibility. The hardware and software for the boiler control system design shall be factory tested by the contractor before installation and be ABS/USCG approved. The contractor will also test the boiler control system for proper operation after installation. It is anticipated that this procurement will be a 100% small business set-aside. The solicitation will be issued on or around 18 September and will be made available on the MSC website, www.msc.navy.mil.
