Description

Intent to award a sole source, TF04EBP0002. There would be a negative impact to the mission of the Military Airlift operations, McChord AFB, Washington, if a break in service occurs. The impact to the government would be egregious. The current task order was issued against an expired BPA therefore a new task order is authorized with a period of performance of 3-months ending December 30, 2003. The value of the new order is under $100,000.00. This sole source is being awarded under FAR part 12. This task order is intended to meet the completion requirements of the Military Airlift operation and is an interim solution while a competitive solicitation is conducted. Per FAR Part 13.106-1 2.b Soliciting From a Single Source ?Contracting Officers may solicit from a single source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available?. Conducting a full and open competition would cause unacceptable delays in fulfilling the 62nd Operations Squadron requirements (FAR 6.302-1) and would cause unacceptable delays and financial impacts therefore this sole source is intended to facilitate the time needed to put out a competitive solicitation.
