- Description
- This modification is issued to answer questions received in response to Solicitation USSS030047 as follows: 1.Q.: [Regarding the above referenced Solicitation's reference to a "Cisco 2905 10/100/1000 24 port switch", Cisco does not carry a model 2905. However, it is assumed that you are actually looking for a model 2950 switch. There are two choices with "10/100/1000" interfaces: Catalyst 2950T or Catalyst 2950SX. Please advise which switch interface (100Base T or 100Base-SX) is required for the configuration.] A: The 100Base T or 2950T is required. 2.Q.: The requirement for 10 Terabytes requires more rackmount units (RU) than currently allotted per the other requirements (switch, server, fan, etc) - is the intent to only have a single 15RU Hardigg case for each of the three mobile units or will multiple cases for each of the three mobile solutions be acceptable? A: One (1) 15RU Hardigg case is required for each system. 3.Q.: There are alternatives to the 3RU cooling fan which includes mounting a fan to the back of the case - will this type of a solution be acceptable to the Secret Service? A: A different cooling fan is acceptable as long as it provides ?adequate cooling.? If you propose a different cooling fan, proof of ability to provide ?adequate cooling? must be submitted with your proposal. 4.Q: Can you please clarify the "11RU Powerstrip". A: The ?11RU Powerstrip? requirement is a typo and is revised to read ?1RU Powerstrip.? 5.Q: Your Past Performance requirement includes reference to "supporting (the kits) in the field." Is there an intent to procure additional on site support and service for these units? A: The support required would be for any downtime incurred due to malfunction of the system(s) during the warranty period. It is expected that that support would be supplied within the confines of the offeror?s warranty at no additional cost to the government. 6.Q: Will the cooling fans be attached to the front or back of the rack (if front, it will prohibit the use of 3U in the rack). A: There is no front and back, just two (2) fronts; the backs are in the middle. 7.Q: How many ports does the KVM switch need to have? A: The KVM switch must have at least four (4) ports. 8.Q: Manufacturer or alternative?; Model number for the mobile storage system? Need specs on the processor, memory, hard drive (primary, secondary), bundled software, network interface card, adapters, and warranty requirement. A: This is not a commercial-of-the-shelf system. The U.S. Secret Service does not have any further specifications or other information to provide other than what is contained in the synopsis. The closing date and time for receipt of proposals is hereby extended to September 18, 2003, 2:00 PM Local Time. This closing date and time is firm, and no other questions will be entertained.
