Description
The National Library of Medicine (NLM) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Bialek Healthcare Environments, of Rockville, MD, for the following services, composed of furnishing labor, materials, equipment and supervision to complete work on the project in accordance with the following: 1. Remove the existing visual display board, trim and accessories. 2. Install drywall on upper half of end wall where visual board was removed and paint new drywall with prime coats and finish coats. 3. Remove the existing vinyl wall covering from all walls and patch and repair and prime walls ready to receive new vinyl wall covering. 4. Install new 54" vinyl wall covering on prepared walls, including wall behind plasma screen. 5. Strip existing chair rail and lower half of end wall bellow drywall. Bleach, stain and refinish to match as close as possible lighter trim around windows. Provide ventilation fans with maximum 100' run exhaust duct. 6. Remove existing carpet and install new carpet tiles. Furnish and install new 4" vinyl base (color to be selected by NLM). 7. Remove existing closet doors and replace with new solid core maple, stained to match new conference table. Provide new door track. 8. Paint trim around sliding doors and projection window frames. NLM determined that Bialek Healthcare Environments is the only source available to provide these design, installation, and renovation services. Bialek Healthcare Environments has previous experience with such services with NLM. Additionally, this project is currently in place and the vendor can provide the additional resources needed to complete the work. Bialek Healthcare Services also can provide furniture that matches the existing furniture in place for the project. Any other source would not be able to meet NLM's needs. This service will be procured under FAR Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items. This is not a Request for Quotations (RFQ), nor is an RFQ available, however, all responsible and responsive sources may submit a proposal that will be considered by the NLM. Firms interested in responding to this notice must be able to provide the professional technical services as specified above. Responses should demonstrate the firm's ability to meet the government's requirements. Responses are required within 7 (seven) calendar days from the publication date of this notice.
