- Description
- NASA/MSFC has a requirement for Part Number 3521 (2 EACH) CAT Power Unit. Power Unit Includes Pump, Motor, Regulator, Pulsation Dampener, Pressure Gauge and Relief Valve. System Specifications: Flow 23 GPM, Pressure 2000 PSI; Application: D. I. Water. Unit Specifications: Pump 3521: Triplex Plunger Pump. Standard Features Include: Die Cast Aluminum Crankcase, Stainless Steel Valves and Seats, Chrome-Moly Crankshaft, Oversized Bearings, 316 Stainless Steel Manifolds, Solid Ceramic Plungers and Specially Formulated Hi- Pressure Seals. Motor: 40 HP, 3 Phase 230/460 volt, 60HZ TEFC Premium Efficiency Baldor Motor Base: Rugged, Epoxy Coated Base Plate made from 3/8? Steel with ?? Channel Steel Base Supports for maximum weight and no flexing. Belt Guard is 13 Gauge Flattened, Expanded Metal, ?? mesh. Bolt Down Shock Mounts. Includes 34334 Oil Drain Kit. Drive Package: Includes Pulleys, Hubs, Belts, and Keys. Accessories: (*) Regulator Model 7036 Stainless Steel: The regulator protects the pump from pressure extremes associated with obstructions in the discharge line, while maintaining the established system pressure. When no flow is required by the system, the regulator bypasses all the system flow. (*) Pulsation Dampener Model 6014 Stainless Steel: The pulsation dampener minimizes wear to down stream components caused by pulsation. The pulsation dampener is precharges with dry nitrogen to 50% of the system pressure. (*) Pressure Gauge Model 6097 Stainless Steel: The pressure gauge is glycerin filled for consistent, accurate readings. A built in snubber reduces pressure fluctuations. (*) Relief Valve Model 7036 Stainless Steel: The relief valve provides back up protection to assure complete pressure relief for maximum system protection. The relief valve is set approximately 300 psi over operating system pressure. ( ) Inlet Strainer Model: The inlet strainer protects the pump from any particles entering the pump. The strainer has stainless steel reinforced ports for added pipe connection support. It flows from the inside out so sediment collects inside the filter. The filter has an 80-mesh screen. ( ) Shut-Off Gun Model: The trigger gun has a durable Zytel? body with a heat resistant Arnite ? trigger for longer life. A stainless steel ball and seat assures thousands of continuous cycles. ( ) Insulated Lance Model: The lance is suitable for hot or cold water. It has a ventilated insulator for operator comfort and safety. The lance is also available in stainless steel. ( ) Discharge Hose Model: The discharge hose has a reinforced wire braid for strength and durability, it also is heat resistant, cleaning chemical resistant, and wear resistant. ( ) Thermo Valve Model: The thermo valve protects the pump from premature failure of the seals by eliminating heat build-up in closed loop by-pass systems. ( ) C.A.T.Model: The Captive Acceleration Tube absorbs energy from a positive head to increase fluid acceleration which significantly reduces cavitation, system surges, or hydraulic spikes. ( ) Vari-Nozzle Model: The vari-nozzle can either be low or high pressure, just by pulling it forward or backwards. A smooth, easy right or left rotation adjusts spray angle from 0-60 degrees for cleaning flexibility. (*) Indicates items must be included on quote ALL MODEL NUMBERS GIVEN ARE SPECIFIC TO C & F PRESSURE SYSTEMS. NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from C & F Pressure System, Inc. This recommendation is made pursuant to FAR 13.106 only one source.C & F Pressure Systems provided the government with four power units less then one year ago. The government requires the two new units to be identical to the existing units so they can be used in parallel without any compatibility issues. The power units must be gang loaded together to provide sufficient flow, therefore, they must be identical and compatible. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to Iris Walter, Eagle Systems & Services, Inc. via fax 256-544-6062 or via email at iris.walter@msfc.nasa.gove not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on October 3, 2003. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. Email and/or fax communications to Iris Walter, Eagle Systems & Services, Inc. at 256-544-6062 or email at iris.walter@msfc.nasa.gov. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B".
