Description

NA Point of Contact: Ruby J. Oringderff, Contract Specialist, (817)886-1061. Project consists of constructing a 200 room three-story dormitory with interior corridors and interior entry ways, room-bath modules for each two students, training manager areas, a n elevator, laundries, storage and lounge areas, and lobby. The facility will have concrete foundation and floor slabs, textured precast concrete, EIFS exterior finish, interior partitions of painted drywall, standard floor finishes such as carpet and til e, and a structural standing seam metal roof. Also included are a Chiller Plant serving this dormitory, the FY04 Dining Facility, three other dormitories, and student recreation center; fire protection measures; site improvements including illuminated ou tdoor pavilions, basketball courts, and volleyball courts; pavements including parking areas and access roads; communications; necessary utilities; landscaping and irrigation system. And demolition of two existing dormitory buildings containing asbestos a nd lead based paint, paving and utilities. Estimated Construction Range: over $10,000,000.00. Solicitation will issue on or about 6 October 2003. Proposals will be due on or about 13 November 2003 at 4:00 p.m., central time. Duration of project 540 cal endar days. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this project is 236220. Small Business Size Standard is $28,500,000.00. This is an UNRESTRICTED solicitation. All qualified business concerns may submit offers. Offers from large business firms must comply with FAR Clause 52.219-9 regarding the requirement for submission of a subcontracting plan. The Fort Worth District subcontracting goals are for specified percentages of the contractors total planned subcontra cting amount to be placed with the following: Small Business 57.2%; Small Disadvantages Business, 8.9%; Women-Owned Small Business, 8.1%; Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, 3.0%; and HUBZone Small Business, 3.0%. The plans and specifications will be placed on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be provided free of charge on the issue date. Plans and specifications will not be provided in a paper hard copy format. Notification of amendments shall be made through 3.5 in ch diskette, CD-ROM and/or the Internet. However, the Government reserves the right to use only the Internet as notification of any changes to this solicitation. It is therefore the contractors responsibility to check the following address daily for any posted changes to this solicitation.
