Description
The USCG MLCP, Alameda, CA, is considering a HubZone set-aside contract for the Drydock/Repair of USCGC ACUSHNET, a 213? medium endurance cutter, homeport of Ketchikan, AK. Work will be accomplished during the period of 17 March 2004 through 11 May 2004. Contractor will be required to provide a facility capable of drydocking the cutter and accomplishing the following (not all inclusive) work: Chain locker clean and inspect, hull plating, underwater body inspect, messdeck bulkhead replacement, misc steel repairs, main diesel engine pre-silence installation, propulsion shaft coating inspect and test, propeller inspect and clean, install new Doppler speed log system, misc piping repair, vent duct clean, sea strainers overhaul, rudder stocks and liners inspect and repair, anchor chain and ground tackle inspect and repair, anchor windlass level 1 inspection, superstructure preserve, hull plating underwater body partial preserve, temporary services and drydocking. The HubZone firm must meet the limitations for subcontracting requirements (FAR 51.219-4) which states ?at least 50% of the cost of contract performance incurred for personnel must be expended for employees of the concern.? The NAICS code assigned to this procurement will be 336611 with a size standard of less than 1,000 employees. Firms that have been certified as a small business HubZone by the SBA and are interested in this acquisition, must submit the following information: (a) company name and address; (b) Company?s POC, including telephone and facsimile numbers and e-mail address; (c) HubZone certification to Rebecca Budde at rbudd@d11.uscg.mil, not later than 3 Oct 2003. A decision whether this will be pursued as a HubZone small business set-aside or not will be posted on www.eps.gov on 6 Oct 2003.
