Description
The Office of Justice Programs(OJP), National Institute of Justice (NIJ) attends to award on a sole source basis a purchase order to the National Criminal Justice Association (NCJA), 720 Seventh Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001. NCJA shall prepare for NIJ, a report on "Protecting Seniors From Fraud, a Study on Crimes Against Seniors". The NCJA represents states on crime control and public safety matters. The NCJA's work focuses primarily on helping develop and implement national policy in the criminal justice field and on helping states address criminal justice-related problems. In accordance with Public Law 106-534, Protecting Seniors from Fraud, the NCJA will assist NIJ in meeting the law requirements by collecting existing information concerning the criminal justice response to crimes against seniors and effective ways to prevent and reduce crimes against seniors and identify gaps in criminal justice response to and services to victims of crimes against seniors. This project shall be accomplished through a review of resources and information on the World Wide Web, telephone interviews with selected national organizations providing services to seniors and a focus group meeting of criminal justice and victim services practitioners and policy makers. The findings and conclusions of this report will serve as a blueprint and will assist NIJ with meeting the needs of the victims of crimes against seniors. Based on NIJ's need and NCJA experience with this subject, it is NIJ's belief that NCJA is the best source for this procurement. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION.
