General Information Document Type: Sources Sought Notice, Solicitation Number: FA4416-04-T-0002 Posted: 23 Sep 2003 SIC: 7376 Description: 89th Contracting Squadron, Andrews Air Force Base, Andrews, Maryland intends to issue a sole source contract to Siemens Building Technologies, Inc., for Maintenance, Repair and Installation of systems designed to interface with the existing Energy Management Control Systems (EMCS). The system installed at Andrews AFB, MD is SIEMENS Building Technologies, Landis Division, Insight System 600 and software that controls the base wide Direct Digital Control (DDC) system components located in remote cabinets. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. The required services include providing all management services, technical support, personal, equipment, materials, parts, tools, labor, transportation, and other services to maintain, install, and repair the entire existing EMCS and other related components at Andrews AFB. The period of performance of any resulting contract will be 1 October 2003 to 30 September 2004. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within 3 days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The assigned Contracting Specialist is Mary H. Lawrence.
