Description

NA Defense Contracting Command- Washington (DCC-W) intends to issue and award a sole source contract with NCR Government Systems Corporation, 2 Choke Cherry Road, Rockville, MD 20850-4030 for technical support services. Services consist of maintenance of the hardware and software product of the National Cash Register (NCR) front-end processors as well as providing the licenses for the use of software needed to run the front-end processors. The NCR Corporation is the sole proprietary owner of the operating sy stems of the hardware. NCR Corporation developed and delivered the software products to the Government, which were integrated with standard NCR ??????off-the-shelf?????? proprietary software products and only NCR Corporation can provide software upgrades, revisions or maintenance. Contractor personnel must possess TOP SECRET security clearance. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Parts 12 and 13. This RFQ is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), FAR Pa rt 13.5. The statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this propo sed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Request for copies of a solicitation in response hereto will not be honored. A firm fixed price contract for one year is contemplated. Point of contact: MAJ Alex P.
