Description

The 11th Contracting Squadron, Bolling AFB DC intends to award a simplified acquisition purchase order on a sole source basis to Epixtech Maintenance Service. The purpose of this requirement is for the renewal of the maintenance agreement between Bolling AFB library and Epixtech Maintenance Service. The requirement is being acquired sole source based on the fact that Epixtech is the solitary manufacturer and supplier of this automated system and has the specialized expertise, the deepest system knowledge, and all proprietary rights. This system serves as the card catalog and the check-in/check-out system for the library. If the system goes down, library operations will cease to function. Without a service contract, Epixtech will not perform any type of service and no other company can service the Dynix System. Without a service contract in FY02, repair costs would have been in excess of $400,000.00. Based on the cost/benefit analysis performed by the Base Library personnel, awarding the contract to Epixtech Maintenance Service company is in the best interest of the government. Award of this solicitation will be made on or about 30 Sep 03. NAICS Code: 811310. No telephone inquiries will be accepted.
