Description
The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) intends to negotiate solely with Control Systems, Inc. In Hagerstown, MD to provide preventive maintenance service to be furnished F.O.B. Destination to the USDA, ARS Appalachian Fruit Research Station in Kearneysville, WV. We require the preventive maintenance service on an IBM OS/2 computer system, a Seibe Environmental Controls Facility Integrator, a Robert Shaw Security System, Control Panel and Digital Management System (DMS 350A), and a Fire-Lite Fire Alarm Monitoring System. These systems will monitor the security of the facility along with several growth chambers, cold rooms, fume hoods, the air-handling systems, the ultra-low freezers, and the greenhouse heating and cooling systems. This system and software is currently linked to a Government-owned personal computer located in the maintenance staff's office and provides a printout of security activity and equipment failure. In addition, the systems are integrated with an alert notification system software which calls emergency personnel when there is an equipment failure. The Contractor shall provide a standard commercial warranty on all parts, labor and services. The Contractor shall provide service engineers who have been trained and certified by the equipment and software manufacturer's to perform repairs on the equipment and software. The period of performance will be from October 1, 2003 (or date of award signature) through September 30, 2004, with four (4) 12-month option periods. The Contractor shall provide a written report of the service/maintenance provided upon completion of each service call throughout the period of the contract. Companies with the demonstrated capability and financial capacity to provide and service all such equipment must submit a written substantive statement outlining the Company's and systems' capabilities to the Contracting Officer within 5 days of publication of this notice. This is not a request for proposal. No solicitation is available.
