- The one-time pre-solicitation project site tour will be conducted on October 7, 2003, at 9:00 A.M. local time in conjunction with the site tour of RFP-CAZ-04-008, Mirror Lake Picnic Ground. The pre-solicitation meeting will be conducted at the Laramie Ranger District Office, 2468 Jackson Street, Laramie, WY 82070. The Sugarloaf Road and Trailhead project consists of furnishing all labor, supervision, materials other than Government furnished, and transportation necessary for reconstruction of the 1.2 mile access road into the Sugarloaf Recreation Area and enlarging and improving two trailhead parking areas. Reconstruction work includes installing and improving drainage structures, road widening, constructing turnouts, hauling and placing fill and gravel surfacing materials. Also included in this project is the installation of two new handicap accessible vault toilets and construction of picnic sites and related signing. It is anticipated that a solicitation for this project will be issued and awarded this winter if funding becomes available; work is tentatively scheduled to begin July 1, 2004. Contract duration will be 120 days. The magnitude of the project is between $250,000 and $500,000. This is an unrestricted acquisition. Note: Due to access to the project site in the spring being difficult at best, the site visit is being held this fall. All potential offerors are invited to attend. If you plan to attend the pre-solicitation site visit, contact Ruth Brado at 970-498-1151 not later than October 6, 2003. If there are no calls indicating attendance, the meeting will be cancelled. If funding becomes available, the solicitation, including the specifications, will be posted at www.FedBizOpps.gov and will state the date that offers are due. Location: Laramie Ranger District of the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest/Thunder Basin National Grassland, approximately 11 miles west of Laramie, Wyoming (T16N, Range 79W, Section 17). To access the Sugarloaf Recreation Area from Laramie, take Wyoming State Highway 130 through Centennial, Wyoming then approximately 11 miles west to the project area.
