- NA This is a notice of the intent of the Center for Health Care Contracting (CHCC), Fort Sam Houston TX to issue a sole source firm-fixed price purchase order to Elsevier, 1230 N. Lindbergh Blvd., St Louis, Missouri 93146. The CHCC intends to solicit and neg otiate only with Elsevier under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c)(1). Date of award is 30 September 2003. This purchase order is for the renewal of a subscription (MD Consult) for 20 concurrent user licenses for the term of September 30, 2003 through September 29, 2004. The MD Consult Clinical Knowledge System provides an integrated family of online services that brings together a wide range of renowned resources in a form matched to the needs of healthcare providers. Content sources include nearly 100 respected medical reference books, full-text articles from dozens of medical journals, MEDLINE, comprehensive drug information, and hundreds of clinical practice guidelines. Other features include more than 3,500 customizable patient education handouts, daily-personalized clinical updates, clinical trial databases, expert perspectives, and professional developmen t with online CME credit. The server allows the users to easily find answers to clinical questions and stay abreast of new medical developments, to MD Consult features: Full-text resources that provide both respected reference content and timely clinical updates; Continuously updated resources, assuring that the latest information is always online; a user-oriented search engine that understands medical terms, enabling users to quickly scan the entire collection simultaneously; and a consistent interface d esign to ensure simple, familiar navigation at every point. This is sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Standard Industry Classification/National American Industry Classification System is 518111 and the size standard is $21 million. This notice is neither a request for quotes nor a solicita tion of offers. A determination by the government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
