- Description
- NAICS Code: 333131 NAICS Code: 333131 This amendment # 2 to RFQ-OH-03-00181 is being issued to clarify the following questions, the answers immediately follow the question. System horsepower requirements to grind anthracite coal in the 100 hardgrove range will require medium horsepower motor capacity. This size motor is only available in 480/3/60 electric service.Project requirements dictate that 480/3/60 volt electric service be provided. Please confirm. Please advise if you require us to provide 480/3/60 volt power. If so, please advise if we can supply gas or diesel fired generator and or distance from power company major power line and voltage of that service to system installation area.. Answer: The EPA cannot specify what motor to use for the pulverizer system. It is up to the proposer to determine the size and electrical requirements to fulfill the requirements of the solicitation. 480/3/60 is NOT available at the site where the pulverizer will be installed. At the site there is 208/3 available. The distance from the closest electrical connection point is approximately 1/4 mile. If 480/3/60 voltage service is available, then 300 AMP electrical panel must be available for the system. Please advise if this size panel is available and how far it is from the pulverizer system installation area. Answer: 480/3/60 voltage is NOT available. Are we responsible for local permits and inspections by local inspectors. How do we confirm any special local codes which may apply. Answer: The vendor is responsible for local permits and inspections. The special local code imposed by Durham County states that all electrical equipment be electrically listed or certified. Does all installation engineering need to be signed off by NC registered professional engineer. Answer: No. Are we to provide concrete support foundation for pulverizer system. If so, we will require soil test borings in order to design and install the correct concrete foundation. Answer: A concrete pad is already in place. The vendor does NOT need to provide a concrete foundation as part of this solicitation. Please advise project payment criteria. Is payment to be made after mechanical testing of the system? Answer: Payment will be made after acceptance of complete system. Please advise the time required in-between filling of each 55 gallon drum. Is drum removal and filling being done with a fork-lift truck which will allow 15 minutes time between barrel fills. Answer: Drum removal and placement will be done with a fork-lift. It is estimated that the time between barrel fills will be 10 minutes. Do you require system operator to be removed from the system operating area for operations via a separate shelter. Answer: No separate shelter is required for the operator. No additional questions will be entertained. Quotations are due no later than Monday October 6, 2003 AT 12:00 PM EST to Mr. David Boris as follows: via regular mail: U.S. EPA, Cincinnati Procurement Operations Division, 26 West Martin Luther King Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45268, or via Express Mail/Hand Carry: U.S. EPA, 4411 Montgomery Road, Suite 300, Norwood, OH 45212.
