- This is a combined solicitation/synopsis providing notice of intent of the VA Maryland Health Care System to negotiate sole source with Steris Corporation of Erie, PA to provide preventative maintenance for one Amsco Ethylene Oxide (EtO) sterilizer, ee7034, serial number 011169001. This procurement is being conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 ? ?Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.? The authority cited and justification made is based on the determination that the Government?s minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available from one source. The contract performance period is October 1, 2003 to September 30, 2004 for the base year with four option years available. The hours of coverage are 8:00am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. The offeror must respond within two hours via telephone and within six hours on-site. The preventative maintenance frequency is bi-monthly. The preventative maintenance service includes all parts (excluding user provided expendables), shipping, labor, and travel. Billing statements are to be submitted quarterly, in arrears referencing both the contract and purchase order numbers. Repairer reports should be submitted to the Contracting Officers Technical Representative (COTR), Davida Riebman, Supervisory Biomedical Engineering Technician. The NAICS code for this procurement is 811219. This notice is for information only and may represent the only official notice of such solicitation/synopsis, however the Government will consider all proposal received on or before October 15, 2003, 4:00pm local time. All responses must be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer (90C), VA Maryland Health Care System, 10 N. Greene Street, Room 6D-173, Baltimore, MD 21201, to my attention. Telephone or faxed inquiries will not be accepted. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
