- The U.S. Department of Education, Office of the Secretary, intends to award a purchase order to obtain expert services regarding tracking and reconciliation of budgetary accounts; resolving problems with obligation and expenditure transactions; monitoring and reconciling travel accounts for the Office of the Secretary and White House Initiative Offices and Advisory Councils; maintaining and enhancing the system for tracking expenditures throughout the year and training Executive Management Staff employees in using the enhanced system, including continued training on entering data and running reports; and developing detailed as well as summary reports appropriate for the Chief of Staff and other senior officials. This purchase order is intended as a sole source award to A. Marvey Beyer, 11836 Ramble Drive, Owings, MD 20736. Length of contract: ends September 30, 2004. Award will be based on experience performing similar work, knowledge of Department of Education accounting systems, and price. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
