- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD), China Lake, CA intends to procure on a full and open competition basis, one (1) scanning electron microscope (SEM) with energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD). The SEM system must be computer controlled with optional manual override of key operating functions. It must include both EDS and EBSD capabilities. The SEM shall provide the capability of observing samples over a wide range on discrete accelerating voltages and magnifications. Either the main SEM console, or independent systems consoles may control the EBSD and EDS systems. The SEM shall be capable of operation in high vacuum; low vacuum and ?wet? modes. Complete specifications will be provided with the RFQ. The contractor is responsible for integration and proper operation of all sub-components including, but not limited to, BSE detector, EDS and EBSD. Used, refurbished or remanufactured equipment is not acceptable. The contractor shall include a set of spare fuzes and any specialized repair items in order to maintain the system for five years. Two sets of technical and operation manuals, and one set of electronic schematics is required. The contractor is responsible for installation. A user?s course in operation of the SEM and all subsystems is required. Quoted prices shall include a standard commercial warranty to cover all systems and subsystems commencing at the government acceptance of the installation, including parts and labor for 1 year. A copy of the standard commercial warranty shall be included with the proposal. Preventive maintenance inspections are required for one year. Delivery of the SEM is FOB destination to the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA 120 days after award of contract. The solicitation will be issued on or about 5 November 2003 and will be available through the 2.0 Contracts Competency home pages at: https://contracts.nawcwd.navy.mil/rfp-nawc.htm. All responses must reference RFQ No. N68936-03-T-0214. Award will be issued under the authority of the test program for commercial items (FAR 13.5) on or about 5 Feb 2004.
