- Description
- The proposed acquisition is for the operation of the Military Sensing Information Analysis Center. The objectives of the SENSIAC are to: (a) Facilitate the use of scientific and technical information in the Military Sensing Technology (MST) areas for the design, development, testing, evaluation, operation, and maintenance of Department of Defense (DOD) systems, military systems operated by allied and friendly nations, and the industrial and research base, which produces and supports systems, (b) Foster communication within the MST community through community-wide meetings, newsletters, internet communications, and other appropriate means, (c) Maintain and develop methods for the collection, archiving, processing, management, analysis and dissemination of MST information, (d) Transfer MST information within the U.S. Government and from the U.S. Government to authorized customers, and (e) Promote standardization within the MST field. The SENSIAC shall identify, collect, review, evaluate, store and provide for use all available scientific and technical data and information related to military sensing technology. In addition, the SENSIAC shall respond to numerous task orders for the purpose of solving specific problems or providing analytical support. A requirements type contract with issuance of delivery orders on a cost-plus-fixed fee basis is anticipated. The contract for a one-year base period, plus nine, one-year option periods. DISA intends to release a request for proposal under solicitation number DCA100-03-R-4081 for the SENSIAC on or about October 24, 2003 with a closing date of approximately thirty (30) days thereafter. The successful offeror is required to have a Top Secret Clearance ? Sensitive Compartmented Information. This requirement will be satisfied using full and open competitive procedures.
