Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY - Solicitations are not available at this time. Request for a solicitation will not receive a response. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. The Bureau of Prisons has a future requirement for instructional services in Computer Aid Design and Drafting at the Federal Correctional Institution located in Victorville, California. Students will be selected by the Supervisor of Education, and the student population will consist of approximately 15 inmate students or as determined by the Supervisor of Education. Academic schedules proposed shall be conducted Monday through Friday during the hours of 8:00 - 11:00 AM and 12:00 - 3:00 PM. In the event of an institutional emergency, classes may be delayed or cancelled as necessary. Course provided shall consist of Practical Business Math Procedures, Machine Tool Technology, Metal Trades Blueprint Reading, Introduction to Mechanical Computer Aided Design/Drafting, and Three Dimensional Mechanical Computer Aided Design/Drafting with AutoCAD. The institution will furnish the software AutoDesk?s 2002. The contractor will be responsible for supplying textbooks, workbooks, and class materials. A terminal Certificate of Completion, documenting the inmate?s specific proficiencies in the above subjects, is required for each inmate who completes all five courses. Each student shall receive college credit for each course taken. The contractor must be a community or junior college, listed in the directory entitled Accredited Institutions of Higher Education, Western Association of Schools and Colleges. All contractor staff assigned to provide instructional services as part of the proposed contract must have a Bachelors of Art and/or Bachelors of Science degree and be qualified to teach AutoDesk?s Architectural Desktop version 2.0. The instructor must also have a minimum of two years teaching experience in a classroom setting. The offeror shall provide an alternate instructor, pre-approved and qualified, in the event of the primary instructor?s absence. Otherwise, the class will be extended to complete the course curriculum. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 611210 (Size Standard: $6 million). Any resultant contract will have a performance period of a base year and four one year option periods. The anticipated contract is firm-fixed-price. A government proposal to provide these services is being developed, and a contract may or may not result. Market research is being conducted to determine interest and capability of potential sources for this requirement. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. The Market Survey Questionnaire will be available on or about October 9, 2003, and will be distributed solely through General Service Administration?s Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the market survey will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation and/or amendments, will be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information regarding this acquisition. The response date for the market survey is October 28, 2003. No collect calls will be accepted. No telephone request or written requests for the market survey will be accepted.
