- The Bureau of Land Management, Salt Lake City, Utah has a requirement for Seed Mixing. BLM will furnish seed. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Solicitation Number for this notice is RFQ JSQ044002. The solicitation document and the incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-14, dated May 22, 2003. The successful contractor shall provide all labor and equipment to mix an estimated 321,250 lbs of forb, grass and browse seed into three separate combinations as outlined. The contractor shall bag and label the seed. The bags shall be weighed by the contractor and are to range between 48 and 52 pounds per bag. Each bag shall be securely tied closed. Bags shall be labeled as BD-NW, BD-W and LBV. Seed mixture shall be as per the following pounds mixed for each area. BD-NW Area: Blue Flax, Appar. 1,800lbs; Crested WG, Hycrest, 25,600lbs; Pubescent WG, Luna, 21,300lbs; Russian WR, Bozoisky, 21,300lbs; Alfalfa, Ladak, 4,250lbs; Tall WG, Alkar, 17,050lbs; Indian RG, Rimrock, 4,250lbs. BD-W Area: Slender WG, SanLuis, 67,000lbs; Mountain brome, Bromar, 61,900lbs; Sandberg bluegrass, MH, 19,000lbs; Blue flax, Appar, 3,850lbs; Thickspike WG, Critana, 38,000lbs; Western Yarrow, 3,300lbs. LBV Area: Muttongrass, 300lbs; Slender WG, Sanluis, 11,750lbs; Mountain Brome, Bromar, 12,000lbs; Sandberg bluegrass, MH, 3,600lbs; Blueflax, Appar, 3,650lbs; Penstemon, Rocky Mtn., 1,350lbs. The Contractor shall remove the seed from the storage trailers, or other designated storage areas, in preparation for mixing. The Contractor shall place the mixed seed on pallets. The pallets shall be stacked no higher than eight (8) feed with no more than 2,000 pounds per pallet. The mixed seed pallets are to be arranged in the warehouse to provide alleyways for access. The Government will provide the warehouse storage for the seed and an area for setting up the mixing equipment. The seed shall be mixed and stored at Stoltze Aspen Mills Warehouse, 1250 North Highway 118, Sigurd, Utah, 84657. The contractor shall mix seed Monday through Friday during daylight hours. The contractor shall be responsible for cleaning up the work area after each mixing and maintaining it in an orderly fashion. All necessary equipment for perform these services shall be provided by the Contractor, including seed mixer, dolly, scales, tags, permanent makers and twine to tie the bags. Unused seed bags and pallets shall be stored in a designated area. Government-furnished material will consist of seed, bags, stretch-wrap and pallets. The Government will provide a forklift with operator at the Richfield Warehouse to assist in moving the seed when required.
