Description
NA Title: Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) Block II, Warhead and Fuze Weaponization, Reference the Sources Sought, 14 August 2003, subject as above, DAAH01-03-R-R014. The solicitation number W31P4Q-04-R-R002 replaces DAAH01-03-R-R014. The Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) is solicitin g proposals for the development and integration of existing or emerging warhead and fuze technologies into a lethal mechanism for the APKWS guided rocket. The contractor shall design and develop a warhead and fuze subsystem to meet the requirements of the APKWS Operational Requirements Document (ORD) in accordance with the APKWS Warhead and Fuze Performance Specification, MIS-PRF-54511, the draft APKWS Warhead and Fuze Specification MIS-PRF-54522, and must meet or exceed the exit criteria that will be set forth in the Statement of Work (SOW). The statement of Work will define the effort required to design and test an integrated warhead and fuze subsystem for the APKWS guided rocket. Resulting warhead and fuze subsystems that pass the exit criteria will be considered for the APKWS Block II Development and Demonstration (SDD) program which begins in FY 06. It is anticipated that up to two cost plus fixed fee contracts will be awarded from this solicitation. THE GOVERNMENT WILL FULLY UTILIZE THE INTERNET AN D ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION TO ISSUE THE SOLICITATION AND AMENDEMENTS; OFFERORS SHALL SUBMIT AN E-MAIL REQUEST FOR THE SOLICITATION WITHIN FIFTEEN DAYS FROM PUBLICATION OF THIS SYNOPSIS. INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE PROVIDED FOR ACCESSING THE INTERNET TO OBTAIN THE SO LICITATION AND AMENDMENTS, WHEN ISSUED. However , if accessing the Internet should prove an untenable hardship, a hardcopy of the solicitation will be provided on a case-by-case basis upon specific written request, but shall in no means be construed as a b asis for extension of the proposal date. No telephone requests for the solicitation will be accepted.
