- WMATA is soliciting proposals for two design-build projects to be constructed in Arlington, VA. These projects include the detailed design and construction of a bus transfer station facility with related site, utility, and systems work at the Shirlington site; and construction of a connecting underground passageway to the existing Ballston-MU Station entrance and mezzanine, and installation of two elevators on the south side of Fairfax Drive. The solicitation includes an option for the installation of one elevator immediately adjacent to the existing elevator on the north side of Fairfax Drive. This is a ?Best Value? procurement. Proposals due o/a 11/18/03. RFP will be available o/a 10/14/03, and may be obtained by calling (202) 269-4575 or fax (202) 635-6431. Estimated price: $10-15 million. Pre-proposal conference will be held on 10/23/03, at 1:00 PM in the Lobby Level Meeting Room of the Jackson Graham Building located at 600 Fifth Street, N.W., Washington, D.C.
