Description
The Air Intelligence Agency (AIA) wishes to acquire computer software programming enhancements assistance to the Desktop Security Incident Measurement (DSIM) project. The DSIM is a centrally managed host-based network-centric Intrusion Detection System (IDS) with firewall capabilities. It monitors the base communications network for suspicious activity, malicious activity, attempted intrusion or actual intrusion and reports the activity to a DSIM server. The contractor will provide the necessary software and design expertise for enhancements to DSIM to efficiently monitor and report activity. This contract will include the expansion of the Desktop Security Engine (DSE) to support the UNIX operating System. The product will automatically propagate the initial DSE installation to individual hosts on a network. The product will also provide an automated active defensive response based on configurable conditions. The Government request that the offeror provide terms for the Government acquiring the software code or a plan for the Government to acquire the source code should the vendor go out of business and/or it or a successor in interest decline to continue development/support of the Air Force version. Offerors are required to provide the unit and extended prices for the following items Item 0001: Alpha Version Software, Item 0002: Beta Version Software, Item 0003: Final Version Software, Item 0004: Data. Justification for noncompetitive action: 10 USC 2304 (c) (1) Intended Source(s): Tiny Software, 3945 Freedom Circle, Ste 1020, Santa Clara CA 95054. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered. The National Industrial Classification (SIC) for this acquisition is 541519, $21,000,000.
