- NOAA's Marine Operations Center - Pacific has a requirement to provide all supervision, material and labor necessary to perform drydock repairs to the NOAA vessel Miller Freeman. All work shall be performed at the successful contractor's facility. In order to maintain the ship's sailing schedule once dry-dock repairs are complete, the successful contractor must have a facility or access to a drydock facility on the West Coast. Performance is scheduled to commence approximately 10 December 2003 and shall be completed on or before 10 February 2004. The work consists of approximately 13 basic items and 6 optional items. Basic work includes (subject to change): load line assignment and hull classification surveys; disassemble and remove the tailshaft and propeller for inspection; coating systems applications; rudder inspection and repair; open, inspect, recondition and replace sea valves; centerboard removal and repair; and pump overhaul. The vessel will be available for inspection at a date to be announced in the solicitation. All responsible sources may submit a bid for consideration. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued approximately 1 November 2003. For a copy of the solicitation, you must register on the FBO to "receive notification".
