Description
It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to procure software license, annual support, and installation/training services on a sole source basis from Applimation Inc., New York, NY, for Applimation?s Db Downsizer, a monitoring tool providing agencies and companies with the capability to ?downsize? the production database. Db Downsizer is manufactured by Applimation and is available only through Applimation. Db Downsizer reduces the storage allocation required for non-production databases through an automated two-step process. First, the data is filtered to allow the organization to determine the subset of transactional data to be maintained. Then, the subset is extracted and the instance is programmatically rebuilt to reclaim any unused tablespace. Applimation?s Db Downsizer product offers a process for both the initial subsetting of the data as well as the subsequent table space reclamation. Db Downsizer is installed to a single ?Applimation Home? repository providing the customer organization with the platform, repository and technology to support automated archiving and purging; continuous monitoring and reporting of changes to business rules and application code; and, automated monitoring and alerting for identified transactions and material events. The Applimation Home single repository platform and technology is unique to Applimation. Applimation?s Db Downsizer has been fully certified by Oracle Corporation for Oracle Applications version 10.7, 11.0.3 and 11i. Applimation?s Db Downsizer employs a proprietary and unique methodology that is not based on or constrained by Oracle Applications? purge routines. The proposed acquisition will be obtained under FAR Part 12 (Commercial Items). This is not a Request for Quotations (RFQ), nor is an RFQ available; however, all responsible and responsive sources may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the NLM. Firms interested in responding to this notice must be able to provide the services as specified above. Responses should demonstrate the firm?s ability to meet the government?s requirements. Responses are required within seven (7) calendar days from the publication date of this notice. NLM synopsis No. 04-012/KS shall be noted on all correspondence to this announcement. Inquiries regarding this procurement may be made to Kala Shankar, Contract Specialist (301) 496 6546 or Karen Riggs, Contracting Officer, (301) 496 6546. Fax requests WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
