- Description
- NA This serves as a sources sought notice to locate qualified small business concerns for services related to physical security systems for the Department of Transportation and other Federal agencies. This is not a solicitation and proposals should not be submitted at this time. Any interested small business source is invited to submit a written qualification statement as it relates to relevant past performance (previous or current experience for the past five (5) years) similar to the requirement. The package shall include the following: (1) Name and address of Applicant (Corporate/Principal Office); (2) Name, telephone and fax number of point of contact; (3) Date firm started; (4) North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code; (5) Type of business (i.e., small business, sm all disadvantaged 8(a) certified, woman-owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business (not 8(a) certified); and (6) Contractor's capabilities in the following areas: 1) Design and installation of an integrated security system consisting of the following: a) Access Control Systems, b) Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), c) Digital Video Recording, d) Interior and Exterior Intrusion Detection, e) Command and Control Centers, and f) Credentialing (i.e., video badging) It is also requested that interested parties provide information as to what equipment manufacturers were associated with the integrated security system. 2) Post-installation testing; 3) Security system training; 4) Directing the development of next generation enhancements of secur ity systems components; 5) Threat and vulnerability assessments (i.e., fuel, HAZMAT, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), etc.); 6) Risk analyses; 7) Contingency and emergency response plan development; 8) Evaluation of countermeasures; and 9) Security audits. We are especially interested in firms that have these capabilities in transportation modes such as aviation, rail, transit, marine, pipeline, highway, traffic safety, intelligent transportation systems, and other transportation activities. All capability information shall include: Contract number; Customer (DOD agency, other Government agency, private industry); Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) name, telephone and fax numbers; contract value and type of contract; period of performance; and descripti on of product/services. Information provided should be detailed in the area(s) above so the Government can assess the ability of the company to provide the described services. All of the information sought should be conveyed in no more than 10 pages. Each response must reference the sources sought title. The NAICS Code for this acquisition is 541690 and the small business size standard is $6 million. Interested sources are requested to submit a package by October 27, 2003, no later than 3:00 p.m. local time to the following address: Volpe National Transportation Systems Center, ATTN: DTS-852, 55 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02142. All data received in response to this announcement marked or designated as corporate or proprietary information will be protected from release outside the Government in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act provisions. Availability of any formal solicitation will be announced separately. This is NOT a Request for Proposal(RFP), Invitation for Bid (IFB), or an announcement of a solicitation, and no solicitation package exists at this time. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this synopsis and submittals will not be returned to the sender.
