Description
The U.S. Army, Office of the Project Manager, Crew Served Weapons, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ is seeking sources for a Non-Developmental Item for a 5.56 and 9mm Close Combat Mission Capability Kit (CCMCK). The CCMCK will be used on the M16 rifle, M4 rifle, M249 Squad Automatic Weapon, M9 pistol, and M11 pistol. The CCMCK shall consist of low-velocity marking ammunition and a weapon conversion kit. The weapon conversion kits are temporary modifications to the weapons to allow them to fire the low-velocity marking ammunition for force-on-force scenarios. Modifications to the weapon's combat components (upper/lower receiver, slide, frame, trigger, and barrels) are unacceptable. The conversion kits cannot fire live service ammunition. A converted weapon should have identifiable markings for non-combat under normal and reduced visibility conditions. The conversion kit cannot alter the weapon's zero. The low-velocity marking ammunition should be available in three colors: blue, red, and purple. The marking residue should be water soluble. The components of the ammunition should be lead free, heavy metal free. The CCMCK, should not fracture the lens of ;the Sand, Wind, Dust goggles (or 1.52mm thick LEXAN)when fired from point-blank. The projectile should penetrate skin under battle dress uniforms. The CCMCK should not alter the reliability of the weapon. The CCMCK should be able to activate the MILES systems. Sources should possess the ability to provide 5.56 ammunition in the linked configuration (M249 SAW use). Interested sources are requested to provide a capability statement, including company name, address, telephone number, technical point of contact, item nomenclature, item description, and applicable brochure/literature. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION AND DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A SOLICITATION. NO AWARD WILL BE MADE AS A RESULT OF THIS MARKET SURVEY. ALL INFORMATION IS TO BE SUBMITTED AT NO COST OR OBLIGATION TO THE GOVERNMENT. SEE NUMBERED NOTE 25.
