- Description
- The Federal Technology Service (FTS) of the General Services Administration (GSA) manages contracts that provide telecommunication services to support the needs of federal agencies. The FTS2001 contracts that provide agencies long distance, data and other important services will expire in the 2006-2007 timeframe. In collaboration with the Interagency Management Council (IMC), which represents the federal agencies user community, FTS is developing a comprehensive follow-on acquisition program, called FTS Networx. FTS Networx will replace the FTS2001 contracts, provide services currently offered on other FTS contracts and include new services. In order to initiate communication with industry on this program, GSA FTS is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to: (1) provide information to potential industry offerors regarding the FTS Networx Program; and (2) solicit comments from industry on the Government?s strategy and industry?s ability to meet the Government requirements. The RFI consists of a main body which describes the acquisition strategy and high level government requirements. Two additional attachments provide descriptions of the services to be acquired and the billing data requirements. The RFI specifies instructions for responding. The RFI is posted with this synopsis and provides more complete information.
