Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA has a requirement for drydock and repairs to NOAA Ship OREGON II to be performed at Contractor?s facility. The performance period will be 93 calendar days with a start date on or about December 11, 2003 and shall be completed on or before March 12, 2004. NOAA Ship OREGON II is a 170 foot, 34 ft beam (molded), draft above molded keel at midship to DWL 12? 6?, draft scantling mean 13? 6?, displacement to DWL 893 Long ton salt water (LTSW), displacement normal full load departure 974 LTSW, lightship displacement 694.58 LT; propulsion ? diesel, single screw Bird Johnson CPP, Engine ? 2 ea Caterpillar 3512 DITA JW, Lufkin reduction gear, hundested 250hp bow thruster, electric service ? twin Caterpillar 3408B/SR4 245kw, 450-480 VAC, 300 amp normal service load without deck machinery; cruising speed 10 knots; crew size - 17. Vessel's homeport is Pascagoula, MS. Basic contract items include Temporary services; drydock and routine drydock work (including zinc anode renewals); Sea valve overhauls; ABS load line survey; underwater body coating; steel plate repairs; bow thruster servicing; ground tackle inspections; ballast tank preservation; forward reefer machine space modifications; MSD room structural & piping repairs; Misc steel & piping repairs; HVAC Fan room preservation & repairs; Net gear stowage hatch renewal & repairs; MSD & sonar room preservation; bait freezer & passageway deck covering renewals; AC & Reefer Saltwater (SW) cooling water strainer installation. Foreseeable costs will be applied for contract evaluation. All work shall be performed in accordance with detailed specifications to be provided with the solicitation. Vessel will be available for inspection on October 22-23, 2003 at Army Corps of Engineers facility, 2000 Fort Point Rd., Galveston, TX and November 7-12, 2003 at Ship?s homeport Pascagoula, MS (Note: Actual arrival and departure times/dates are subject to change based on ship?s schedule). Copies of the solicitation will only be posted on FEDBIZOPPS on or about 11/10/2003. This award is intended for a firm fixed price contract using sealed-bid procedures.
