- Description
- The VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract for a Respiratory monitoring system prototype by Neuro Vent Research Inc. to be purchased for the Research Department at the VA Medical Center, Hines, IL. This system is unique in that it is the only automated system that allows acquisition and analysis of the electrical activity of the diaphragm using computer algorithms specifically developed to exclude the influences of electrocardiogram motion artifact and background noise. This is a prototype since all commercially available EMG equipment that can be used to monitor the electrical activity of the diaphragm does not correct for changes in lung volume, chest-wall configuration, motion, and EKG artifacts. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. If however, a firm believes it can meet the requirements it must furnish information about it?s products and services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and service, to the Contracting Officer within 10 days after publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement. Information must be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, 5000 W.
