- Description
- The position will be based at the USAID Office in Conakry and the incumbent will also provide support to USAID s program activities in Sierra Leone, as needed. The Personal Services Contractor (PSC) will serve as the Senior Advisor on Democracy & Governance (D&G) and decentralization issues for USAID Guinea and will also be Team Leader of the Mission?s Democracy and Governance Strategic Objective Team. The Senior D&G Advisor-Team Leader will report to the Office of the Director and work under the general supervision and policy guidance of the Mission Director (or his or her delegate) and the U.S. Ambassador. S-he is expected to: work and liaise effectively with senior USAID and Embassy officers at post and USAID partners independently with limited supervision; lead, supervise and manage USAID s D&G professional staff; and interact, political party leaders, host country Government officials and NGOs working in the DG sector. S-he will have high level of responsibility for a broad range of key activities, including the conduct of in-depth analysis of the political and social situation in Guinea and recommending courses of action regarding all aspects of democratic governance to the DG SO Team, senior USAID management, and partners.
