Description
The Government is seeking professional design services from an Architect Engineering Firm to develop working drawings and specifications to Replace the Air Handing Unit Serving 4 Center and 4 East at the University Drive C Division. This project involves removal of ductwork on the roof, roof curb, duct rails, support platform and grating. Remove chilled water piping through roof and portals; remove all valving for the cooling coil control rig assembly. Remove steam and condensate piping and valving from the control rig assembly for the steam coil and humidifier. Remove variable frequency drive for the unit supply and return fans along with the associated power wiring. Remove complete control wiring, panels and all associated equipment pertaining to the air handling units. Demolition of all existing HVAC equipment on the roof. Reroofing as required after the demolition and new work. Design project work to meet VA HVAC Design Manual, NFPA, OSHA, and NEC electrical requirements. Design timeframe is stringent and sixty (60) days will be allowed for the total design. The Architect Engineer will make site visits as necessary to survey existing conditions as required to determine existing as built conditions affecting this project. A/E shall verify every aspect that relates to the project, coordinate visits with the Project Manager. A/W must be proficient in the use of Auto Cad 2000 and have access to Microsoft Work 5.0 or higher. Estimated cost of construction is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Area of consideration is restricted to within sixty (60) miles of the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, University Drive Division, Pittsburgh, PA 15240. This restriction applies to both the Architect Engineer and the subs. Those interested firms, both small and large, within the area of consideration shall submit three (3) copies of current SF-254 and SF 255 to the attention of Cassandra E. Craven (Contracting Officer) 04A1-H, VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. The NAICS code is 541330 with the small business size standard of $4.0 million. Due date for SF254 and SF255 is November 21, 2003 at close of business. (COB) 4:30pm. This is not a request for proposal. Numbered Note #24.
