B.1, dated May 29, 2003, this notification represents the formal public announcement and official start date of the competitive sourcing study involving the preparation of ready-to-coin planchets (involving blanking, annealing and upsetting)/ Government Agency: Department of the Treasury, United States Mint, Manufacturing Strategic Business Unit/ Location: Mint sites located in Denver, Colorado and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania/ Type of Competition: A-76 Standard/ Activity Being Competed: Blanking, annealing and upsetting operations and directly related support functions/ Incumbent Service Provider: Federal government employees/ Number of government personnel performing the activity: approx. 150 FTEs (Full Time Equivalents)/ Name of CSO: Teresa Ressel/ Name of the Contracting Officer: Llane C. McGee/ Name of the ATO(s): Tim Riley/ Projected End Date of the Competition: September 2004/ Note: In accordance with 31 U.S.C., no provisions of law governing procurement or public contracts are applicable to the procurement of goods and services necessary for carrying out Mint programs and operations.
